Randall Moore Rice

Randall Moore Rice, 76, of Russell, KY passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Mr. Rice was born on July 20, 1940 in Ironton, OH; a son of the late Elmo Waffin and Nola Moore Rice. Mr. Rice was a member of Flatwoods Church of Christ.  He was employed, for thirty years, with AK Steel in Ashland, KY with the maintenance department.  He served his country in the Army National Guard.  A great joy, that is worthy to mention, is the love of fishing with his grandsons. Mr. Rice will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty years, Mary Lou Rucker Rice; two daughters: Kristi Childers of Russell, KY and Cheri Rice of Atlanta GA; two grandsons: Tony Bacon of Bridgeville, PA, and Trace Childers of Russell, KY; and his dog and best buddy, Max. The funeral will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Minister Mark Day officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, KY. The visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in honor of Mr. Rice, to either Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY 41101, or to Lawrence County Humane Society Animal Shelter, P.O.
