Ray Snowden, 79, of Russell, KY, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY, surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Snowden was born March 19, 1940, in Winchester, KY, to the late Vernon and Freda Baber Snowden.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Snowden was preceded in death by two brothers, Clinton and Scott Snowden.
Mr. Snowden was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a Machinist at AK Coke Plant in Ashland, KY. Ray enjoyed drag racing and restoring antique cars.
Mr. Snowden is survived by two children: a son, Phillip (Molly) Snowden of Ironton, OH and a daughter, Kara (Bill) Horton of Grayson, KY; three grandchildren, Ryan Vaughn of Greenup, KY, Sarah Snowden of South Point, OH, Lorin (CJ) Suttles of Ashland, KY; one sister, Sue Savage of Raceland, KY; one niece, Lisa Savage of Raceland, KY; a Buddy, Connie Howerton of Franklin Furnace, OH; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY, with Pastor Tom Stephens officiating. A committal service will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup, KY.
Visitation will begin at 11 A.M. and last until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
