Robert and Dorothy Kaulius Dorothy Jane Brewen Kaulius, 93, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020, surrounded by her family, including her loving husband of nearly 74 years, Robert A. Kaulius, 94, who passed away three days later on Monday, May 25, 2020. Dorothy and Robert dated throughout high school and were married on May 25, 1946, in Eastonville, PA. Both spent their last days at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Mr. and Mrs. Kaulius are survived by their three children, two sons, Lt. Col. Mark (Sheryl) Kaulius (retired) of Elbert, CO and Edward “Ned” Kaulius of Boise, ID; and one daughter, Jayne (Bill) Love of Greenup, KY; four grandchildren, Johanna (Mike) Thompson of Aurora, CO, Robert (Giselle) Kaulius of Bridgewater, NJ, Aaron (Jessica) Bailey of Ashland, KY, and David Bailey of Nashville, TN; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. They deeply loved and cherished their time with their grandchildren and were exemplary grandparents. Dorothy was born August 14, 1926, in Easton, PA to the late Robert and Hannah Laubach Brewen. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Walters. Mrs. Kaulius was a 1944 graduate of Easton High School in Easton, PA. She was a homemaker and was involved in various homemaker clubs. She loved spending time with her family and playing Bridge. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels with Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Russell, KY where she loved to sing in the choir. Robert was born December 24, 1925, in Easton, PA, to the late Vincent Kaulius and Antoni Alezanskasl. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter Massie, Ed Kaulius, and Bill Kaulius. Mr. Kaulius was a 1943 graduate of Easton High School in Easton, PA and a 1951 graduate of Lehigh University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also played college football as a defensive linebacker on an undefeated team. Mr. Kaulius was a World War II Navy Veteran. He enjoyed golfing and working at the Paramount Arts Center’s Festival of Trees in Ashland, KY. He was a board member of Brookside Swim Club in New Jersey. Alongside his wife, Dorothy, he was also a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Russell, KY.   Mr. and Mrs. Kaulius will be laid to rest in Wind Gap Cemetery in Pen Argyl, PA.
