Robert Lee Bob Hicks

Robert Lee “Bob” Hicks, 70, of Ashland, KY, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hicks was born March 3, 1949 in Ashland, KY to the late Robert L. and Lillian Smith Hicks. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren and one sister, Caroline Hicks. Mr. Hicks was a Pipefitter with Local 248 where he retired after 49 years of service. He was also a Deacon and Song Leader at Summit Missionary Baptist Church where his was a member. Mr. Hicks is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Melodee Kaye McGlone Hicks of Ashland, KY; two sons, Jeffery Lee (Dana) Hicks and Wesley D. (Stephanie) Hicks, both of Ashland, KY; one daughter, Stephanie Richendollar of Ashland, KY; 8 grandchildren: Joshua (Brie) Howard, Brandon Howard, Kali (Mike) Hulett, Angel (Brian) Hannah, Lillian (Greyson) Richendollar, Alexis (Tyler) Richendollar, USMC RCT Ethan Sparks, and Garrett Hicks; 5 great-grandchildren: Jaden, Jaxson, Burklie, Parker, and Evelyn; one brother, John W. Hicks of Russell, KY; five sisters, Anna (Greg) Perkins of Ashland, KY, Sharon (Marvin) Warner of Russell, KY, Janice (Doug) Alexander of Ashland, KY, Nancy (George) Menshouse of Ashland, KY, and Cathy Gillum of Ashland, KY; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Pastor Kevin Meenach officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, KY.
