Ronald Wesley Howard, 60, of Ashland, KY passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Mr. Howard was born on March 29, 1953 in Ashland, KY, a son of the late Odie and Erma Wells Howard.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters:  Bonnie Carpenter and Mary Ann Howard. He was a self-employed dry wall contractor. He was an Army Veteran that served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his spouse, Barbara Kennedy Howard; three sons:  Richard (Michelle) Howard of Augusta, GA, James Randall (Missy) Griffith of Ashland, KY, and Labe Edward Griffith of Ironton, OH; three daughters:  Stephannie Michelle (Matthew) Heaberlin of Flatwoods, KY, Cassandra Lea Griffith of Cincinnati, OH, and Sylvia Marie (Jason) Sturgeon of Ashland, KY; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Hilda) Howard of Ashland, KY; three sisters:  Betty (Paul) Murmann of Cleveland, OH, Linda (Michael) Forbes of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Sandra (Willard) King of Winchester, KY; a loving brother-in-law, William Carpenter and several nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at 1 PM on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County, KY with Mike Rice and Rev. Charlie Bayless officiating.  Viewing will be on Monday from 10am to 12 pm at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY.  Military Honors will be performed by American Legion Kenova Post 93.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
