Roscoe James “Jim” Keeton, 78, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.
Mr. Keeton was born August 18, 1940, in Raceland, KY, to the late Roscoe “Rueben” and Kathleen Elizabeth Estep Keeton.
In addition to his parents Mr. Keeton was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Lee and Bobby John Keeton; and four sisters, Goldie Keeton Triplett, Imogene Coon, Lucy Honaker, and Mary Lou Blevins Coon.
Mr. Keeton was a Machine Operator at AK Steel Coke Plant in Ashland, KY and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He attended First Apostolic Church of Flatwoods, KY and was a member of the Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers International Union.
Mr. Keeton is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Patricia M. Zayon Keeton of Flatwoods, KY; three sons, Michael J. (Joy) Keeton of Jensen Beach, FL, John M. (Rebecca) Keeton of Flatwoods, KY, and Ruben B. (Robin) Keeton of Floyds Knob, IN; one daughter, Jennifer M. (Will) Braden of Flatwoods, KY; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Larry W. Keeton of Wurtland, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12 P.M. on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup, KY.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
