Shirley C. Greene Taylor, 80, of Argillite, KY passed away on July 19, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Mrs. Taylor was born September 13, 1936 in Rockhouse, KY, a daughter of the late Daniel R. and Tennie S. Hutchinson Greene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: James E. Greene, Earl L. Greene, Linzey R. Greene, Robert R. Greene, William H. Greene and four sisters: Ruby J. Greene, Anna K. Green Fraley, Daisy L. Greene Fraley, and Mary Sue Greene.
Mrs. Taylor loved bowling, was a member of the WIBC League, and won many trophies. She was very artistic and enjoyed designing and creating ceramics. She was also known as a speed demon and loved driving her 1968 GTO Pontiac. She was also a wonderful cook.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wilbur B. Taylor; one son, Kevin M. (Mary) Taylor of Aberdeen, MS; one daughter, Lisa M. (John) Abrams of Argillite, KY; one brother, Arlan “Leo” Greene of Ashland, KY; one sister, Naomi A. Greene Nunnery, of Panama City, FL; five grandchildren: Corlie M. (Daniel) Williams, Colton T. (Angie) Bentley, Shiloh M. (Robert) Fannin, Sabrina Taylor, JR Taylor; six great grandchildren: Eli Williams, Ava Williams, Karmyn Taylor, Liam Taylor, Wyatt Bentley, Draevyn Fannin; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Rev. Mike Sargent and Rev. Sheldon Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at KY Veterans Cemetery NE in Greenup, KY.
Visitation will begin at 11 am on Monday.
