Vivian Laverne Arthur Adkins

Vivian Laverne Arthur Adkins, 66, of Rush, KY passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Boyd County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Adkins was born March 28, 1947, in Ashland, KY, a daughter of the late Robert Simeon and Ruth Elva Riffe Arthur.  She is also preceded in death by her Husband, Carl Edward Adkins, Sr.; four brothers:  Roy Arthur, Homer Arthur, Arville Arthur, and Larry Arthur; two sisters:  Joyce Daniels and Rosa Hall. She was a homemaker, mother, and grandmother.  She attended Ashland Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by two sons: Carl E. (Patty) Adkins Jr. of Flatwoods, KY and James Robert Adkins of Rush, KY; two daughters:  Carla Sue Brown of Ashland, KY and Yvonne Denise (Pete) Smith of Raceland, KY; three brothers:  Charles Everett Arthur of Ashland, Earl D. Arthur of Ashland, and Vernon (Rita) Johnson of Cattletsburg, KY; two sisters:  Bessie E. Nelson of Ashland, KY and Muriel Meade of Cattletsburg, KY; seven grandchildren:  Joey (Miranda) Gillum, Justin Gillum, Jason Gillum, Tabitha Adkins, Derek White, Jarrod Smith, and Emily Smith:  four great grandchildren:  Luke Gillum, Bella Gillum, Autumn Gillum, and Elijah Gillum. The funeral service will be at 12 PM on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Rev. Daniel Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, KY.
