William Darrell “B.D.” Whitt, Jr., 64, of Flatwoods, KY, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Mr. Whitt was born April 19, 1950 in Ashland, KY; a son of the late William D. and Bea Barnett Whitt. Mr. Whitt was a crane operator for AK Steel, and a member of the Steel Workers Union Local #1865 in Ashland, KY.  He was also a licensed funeral director and embalmer for the state of Kentucky. He loved hunting, fishing, and UK Basketball. Mr. Whitt is survived by his wife of forty two years, Linda Stapleton Whitt; a daughter, Jennifer Whitt of Lexington, KY; a brother, Eddie Albert (Jennie) Whitt of Ashland, KY, and two nephews: Andy and Johnny Whitt. The funeral will be at 11 am on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with Chaplain Mike Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, KY.
