William Howell Bill Holt

William Howell “Bill” Holt, son of the late Charlotte and William Monroe Holt, passed away on Monday at age 70. Bill was born in Ashland, KY on January 18, 1950, and died November 30, 2020, at the V.A. Medical Center in Huntington, WV. A resident of Ashland, KY, Mr. Holt is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Barbara Lynn “Kitty” Conley Holt; his brother, Stephen (Linda) Holt of Raceland, KY; and a sister, Kathy Holt of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his two nieces, Chaille Holt of Cincinnati, OH and KatyShay Kennedy of Jacksonville, FL. A veteran of the Air Force, Mr. Holt served as a security specialist and attained the rank of Sargeant in the Vietnam War, and he was retired from CSX where he worked as a clerk. He was a graduate of Wurtland High School. Mr. Holt was renowned for his spontaneous sense of humor and his empathetic nature. He will be greatly missed. The family has arranged a private service with Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY.
